Facing Your Fears (FYF) Group for Children

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND. Facing Your Fears (FYF) is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) program for children and youth with ASD who experience significant symptoms of anxiety. This group focuses on helping children and their caregivers in identifying worries, developing coping strategies, and practicing managing anxiety. This group consists of 12 weekly in-person sessions. Caregiver AND child participation in each session is required.

-4 children + 4 caregivers (one per child) -closed group (i.e., the same children and accompanying caregivers attend each of the 12 sessions within same group)
This group is intended for children ages 8 to 12 years who have heightened level of anxiety (e.g., worries or fears), are verbal/conversational, and reading at the Grade 2 level or above. Initial screening for eligibility is required to ensure that the group will be a good fit for each participant.
12, 1.5-hour sessions (18 hours in total)
Tuesdays (3:30 pm to 5:00 pm) beginning on September 10, 2024 and running to November 26, 2024
