Miranda Ableson Speech-Language Pathology Professional Corporation is owned by a Speech-Language Pathologist who is passionate about supporting preschool and school-aged children with a wide range of communication needs. She has experience working across both public and private sectors, providing assessment, intervention, and consultation to help children build the communication skills they need to thrive at home, school, and in their communities.
In addition to her private practice, Miranda contracts with a local school board and First Nation communities to provide individualized, family-centred services. She is committed to empowering families by helping them understand their child’s communication strengths and needs, navigate available services, and access the supports that best fit their unique journey.
Miranda believes that meaningful progress happens through collaboration with families, educators, and other professionals. She offers flexible services in a variety of settings, including the clinic, home, child care centres, and schools, making intervention practical, accessible, and tailored to each child’s everyday life.
Miranda Ableson is a Speech-Language Pathologist with over 16 years of experience supporting preschool and school-aged children and their families across a variety of public and private practice settings. Throughout her career, she has worked alongside families, educators, child care providers,
school teams, and community partners to help children develop the communication skills they need to connect, learn, and participate meaningfully in everyday life.
Miranda is especially passionate about early communication development and believes that strong communication begins with connection. She values building trusting relationships with children and their families, creating engaging, play-based interactions that foster authentic communication and joyful learning. Her approach is family-centred, recognizing that parents and caregivers are a child’s most important communication partners. She enjoys coaching families to embed language-building opportunities into everyday routines, empowering them to support their child’s progress long after a therapy session ends.
Miranda has a special interest in supporting children with motor speech and motor planning difficulties, as well as helping children develop the oral language foundations that support later literacy success. She believes that communication, reading, writing, and learning are deeply connected, and enjoys working collaboratively with families and educators to strengthen these foundational skills across home, school, and community environments.
Her practice is grounded in evidence-based care and enriched by extensive professional learning. Miranda has completed many Hanen Centre® training programs and has additional training in the SCERTS® framework, Auditory Verbal Therapy through CHEO for children who are deaf or hard of hearing, motor speech intervention, and fluency through ministry training offerings while working with the Preschool Speech and Language Program. She is committed to ongoing professional development and continually integrates current research and best practices into her work.
Today, Miranda provides individualized assessment, intervention, and consultation through her private practice, as well as through partnerships with school board and First Nation communities. She offers services in clinic, homes, child care centres, and schools, tailoring therapy to each child’s strengths, interests, and everyday environments.
Above all, Miranda strives to ensure that every child has opportunities to communicate authentically, build meaningful relationships, and develop the confidence to share their thoughts, ideas, and personality with the world.
