Established in 2011, Mariani and Associates is a clinic based in Sudbury, Ontario specializing in theprovision of psychological services for individuals of all ages and their families. Mariani andAssociates is proud to support every individual who comes through our doors. We are flexible intailoring our approaches to the individual differences of each client. We are committed to excellencein the provision of evidence-based interventions. Our services have helped many clients with diversebackgrounds including, but not limited to, First Nations and Metis, clients who identify as LGBTQ2+,individuals with physical or intellectual disabilities, first responders, and military veterans. Our team
consists of doctoral-level psychologists, Master’s level clinicians, and experienced administrativestaff. We also take pride in identifying our clinic as a training facility and we welcome many graduatelevel psychology students and medical students to learn valuable clinical skills and/or to attainresearch experience.
At Mariani and Associates, we work collaboratively with various multidisciplinary teams and agencies, including physicians, allied health professionals, schools, rehabilitation companies, insurance companies, law firms, WSIB, RCMP, Veteran’s Affairs Canada, and other employers to identify the Foundational Family Services: Proposal Template sources of an individual’s psychological difficulties and to coordinate personalized treatment plans to support a return to optimal well-being, and to foster growth and adaptation. Our catchment area ranges from Parry Sound to Timmins, and from Sault Ste. Marie to North Bay. Video and telepsychology options are available to support clients who live in more rural communities in Northern Ontario.

Therapist Descriptions
Dr. Matias Mariani, Ph.D., C.Psych.
Dr. Mariani is the director of Mariani and Associates and a fully licensed clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist. Dr. Mariani received his B.Sc. with Specialized Honours in Psychology from York University in 2002, and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Windsor in 2005 and 2009, respectively. He completed a pre-doctoral residency in Clinical Neuropsychology at the Glenrose Rehabilitation and University of Alberta hospitals in Edmonton, as well as clinical practica at Sunnybrook Health Sciences in Toronto, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, University of Windsor Counselling Centre in Windsor, and Wayne State University Health Centre in Detroit.
Dr. Mariani has a broad scope of practice, which includes evaluating neurocognitive, psychological, and behavioural problems and providing treatment for various psychological difficulties (e.g., trauma-related conditions, depression, anxiety, etc.) and behavioural problems (e.g., impulsivity, tics and other repetitive behaviours, etc.).
Tanner Rakochy, M.A., Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Mr. Rakochy completed a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Laurentian University. He is currently completing clinical training as part of the process to become a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario. He practices under the direct supervision of Dr. Matias Mariani.
Mr. Rakochy’s role at Mariani and Associates consists of conducting standardized psychological and psychoeducational testing on and providing evidence-based counselling to children, adolescents, adults with known or suspected neurodevelopmental, psychological, and/or behavioural problems.
Michelle Bascom, CYW, Clinical Associate
Ms. Michelle Bascom a clinical associate at Mariani and Associates. Ms. Bascom has an educational background in Child and Youth Development and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). From 2005 to 2021, Ms. Bascom supported individuals on the autism spectrum and their families in both recreational and clinical settings. She has worked as a behavioural consultant and as an instructor therapist with Child & Community Resources, and as service navigator team lead with Autism Ontario. Ms. Bascom is actively involved in the community, such as participating in working committees and French language services.
At Mariani and Associates, Ms. Bascom provides individual and group treatment to individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. She also provides parent training and consultation, and assistance with system navigation.
Ms. Bascom is fluent in French and English.
Jordan Andrews, M.A.., Clinical Associate
Mr. Andrews completed a Master of Arts in Applied Psychology at Laurentian University, with his thesis research encompassing cognitive behaviour therapy and eating disorders.
Mr. Andrews previously graduated from Nipissing University with Honours Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Biology with a specialization in neuroscience. He has presented research as an undergraduate student at Society for Neuroscience conferences in Chicago, Il. and Washington, D.C.
Mr. Andrews works under the direct supervision of Dr. Matias Mariani. Mr. Andrews’ role at Mariani and Associates consists of conducting psychological assessments and providing individual and group psychotherapy, primarily with adolescents and adults. His treatment modality is cognitive behaviour therapy.
Nina Vincent, M.A., Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Ms. Vincent is a dedicated Psychotherapist (Qualifying), who completed a Masters of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology for Yorkville University. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Social Work. Under the supervision of Dr. Mariani, she is completing her clinical training to become a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
Ms. Vincent works with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, and behavioural difficulty. She utilizes evidence-based approaches such as cognitivebehavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, person-centred therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies to tailor individual treatment plans for clients. Additionally, Ms. Vincent has experience working with children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental conditions.
Ms. Vincent fosters a safe, non-judgmental space for all her clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, with an emphasis on empathy, collaboration, and respect with every session. She is also committed to professional development, and stays current on the latest clinical research to ensure her clients receive the highest quality of care.
Enara Iturregui, M.A., Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Ms. Iturregui graduated from Yorkville University in 2024 with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She previously attained her Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour and a Bachelor of Arts in Environment and Society from McMaster University. Ms. Iturregui is in the process of completing post-masters clinical experience to become a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She practices under the direct supervision of Dr. Matias Mariani, (C. Psych).
Ms. Iturregui’s role at Mariani and Associates includes providing individual psychotherapy to older adolescents, adults, and elderly individuals. She uses evidence-based approaches and best-practice techniques to help develop balanced thinking and improve behaviours with each of her clients.
