Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Group for Anxiety
About
This cognitive behaviour therapy group is intended for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder aged 8 to 13 years who experience symptoms of anxiety. The group will focus on increasing knowledge about anxiety and how it impacts one’s life, the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, identifying maladaptive and unhelpful thoughts, reducing avoidance of anxiety-provoking situations, and increasing coping skills. All sessions aim to teach practical skills for children to use in everyday life to better manage their worries, in addition to providing parents with tools to support their child. All materials will be provided.
Note: All applicants must undergo an intake interview to determine eligibility.
