This Program provide parents with simple strategies to use during every day routines and activities to help their child interact more meaningfully with others and experience less frustration. Participants will receive 4 individual consultation sessions with caregiver & child; 8 group learning sessions for caregivers.
This series is for 8 sessions in a group format for caregivers; followed by up to 4 individual sessions with child afterwards (age 1 to 5 years old).

The Feeding Education Series (FES) consists of two educational sessions for parents. Participants will learn the skills involved in eating, areas where their child may be having difficulty, and strategies and resources available to assist with feeding difficulties.

TalkAbility Program
Participants will learn how your child carries on conversation and next steps to support back-and-forth conversations, how to encourage attending to non-verbal social messages, how to talk so they can tune in to what others are thinking, how to increase story-telling and play imaginatively, how to help them make friends

This workshop will discuss strategies that are proven effective when teaching toileting skills. Participants will gain knowledge of steps of toilet training, teaching strategies to implement during the toilet training journey. This is accompanied by a one-hour follow up consultation to support implementation into the home setting.

In this workshop you will learn practical strategies to teach your child daily living skills such as handwashing, brushing teeth, getting dressed or taking a shower. Strategies include learning how to break down a skill into smaller parts and how to use motivation to encourage success. This is accompanied by a one-hour follow up consultation to support with how to teach the daily living skill in the home setting.

Participants will learn the strategies to apply prior to a big life change and how to cope with the change. Big transitions may include moving, going to preschool, moving to a new school, having a new sibling, death of someone close, divorce, etc.

Difficulties with transitions are common challenges associated with an ASD diagnosis. This 2-hour group workshop will involve learning opportunities to explore several evidence-based strategies to support with everyday transitions such as going to the grocery store, leaving the house for recreational activities, morning/bedtime routines

In this presentation, participants will learn how to define behaviour, including examples of appropriate and challenging behaviour. Participants will learn how to apply the Antecedent-Behaviour-Consequence (A-B-C) Model, looking at the different functions of behaviour and general teaching strategies
Participants will need access to a computer with a camera and microphone and an adult to help with trouble shooting if required. All handouts will be sent virtually and will need to be printed off at home. Homework will be assigned each week which will focus on practicing the skills that were introduced in the lesson.

This group will focus on basic organizational skills for everyday life. Emphasis will be placed on organizational strategies for the school and home. Participants will learn the importance of being organized in their daily lives and strategies for how organization can be maintained. Organizing one’s time will also be addressed as this is a necessary life skill, particularly in adolescence.
This service is intended for children aged 7-11 (2nd through 5th Grade)
-One adult is able to attend the weekly sessions with their child and to help them practice skills during the week.
-Children who can play simple board games and has a concept of winning and losing.
-Children who have had exposure to simple sports that are typically played at recess (Four Square, jump rope, soccer, etc.)
-Children who are able to maintain a shared focus in a conversation with another child.
-Behaviours can be controlled with reward and/or brief time away from the group.

Games with Friends is a skill building group with goals around learning, playing, and interacting with peers. Facilitators use an interactive model including activities and games to teach participants social play and social language skills.

• Understanding differences in interests
What are the participation requirements?
• Have friendship problems
• In High school
• Young adults must be interested in attending the program
• Young adults must consistently attend the program
• Young adults must agree to participate voluntarily in the program
• Young adults must have a consistent social coach willing to attend the program each week
• Young adult does not demonstrate any aggressive or offensive behaviours
