PECS is an evidence-based, functional communication system often implemented with individuals who are nonverbal, or who have limited speech.
After completing the 2-part series caregivers are eligible for consultation to assist with individual questions. Assistance with material prep may also be provided.

Caregivers of children and youth with a confirmed diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Kelly Alves is a full-time faculty member in the Behavioural Science diploma program at Seneca College in King City, Ontario. Her teaching expertise lies in the areas of research design, behavioural interventions for skill acquisition and behaviour reduction with individuals with ASD.
Kelly has more than 20 years community-based experience designing, supervising and assessing behavioural programs for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. Kelly has a Master of Education from Brock University and is currently enrolled in the Education, Leadership and Policy Doctoral program at the University of Toronto. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst her research interests include parent/caregiver education, staff training, and curriculum development.
Caregivers must attend both Group 1 sessions.
