SURREY PLACE

Behavioural Services

The Clinic Week option allows families, together with their local treatment team (if applicable), to work across 4 consecutive mornings or afternoons in collaboration with a Surrey Place clinical team, composed of a BCBA and Therapist. The goal of the clinic week is to complete a preliminary curriculum assessment of the child’s areas of strength and need and help the family identify immediate goals. The first clinic day consists of the BCBA and Therapist meeting the family, client, and members of the local team to gather relevant history, conduct observations, and plan the assessment. During the second and third clinic days, the Therapist will work with the client, family, and local team to conduct the needs assessment. During the fourth day, the BCBA and Therapist will again meet with the family, client, and local team (if applicable), to review observations from the week and written recommendations. A telephone call within 2 weeks is available to follow-up on questions that may have arisen from the recommendations. Should intervention be recommended, ongoing supervision needs for implementation will be discussed. In complex cases, recommendations to identify local community supports to provide the intervention and supervision may be necessary.
